It is an endeavor of the Amravati Police to enhance the quality
of life in our city by working in partnership with the community and in
accordance with constitutional rights to enforce laws, preserve peace, reduce
fear and provide for a safer environment.
Maintenance of law and order, prevention and detection of crime are the main
functions of the police. They also perform important functions such as
prosecution of criminals, escorting and Guarding of prisoners, private or public
property, control and regulation of traffic,
inspection of explosives, verification of character and antecedents, etc. In
addition the police have a role to play in the implementation of several socio-
economic legislations.
